Dear Parents and Caregivers
We invite the parents, caregivers and whanau of all year 9 students to attend a meeting in our school hall on Wednesday March 2 beginning at 5pm.
We will be outlining some of the changes that are taking place to improve educational outcomes for our students.
Senior staff and senior student leaders will be available to meet with you during this time.
Unfortunately due to the current PPTA industrial action, most of our teachers will be unavailable for this evening.
On Wednesday February 23 the majority of our teachers will be attending a government paid union meeting. (Under Section 26 of the Employment Relations Act 2000). This meeting relates to the unresolved issues that the union and government failed to agree on, in 2010.
We will modify our timetable structure on Wednesday February 23, to minimise interruption to our learning programmes, by cancelling assembly and moving class periods to earlier in the day.
Staff who are PPTA members will not be available after 12.30 pm for classroom instruction, and students not required to remain at school will be released.
Students requiring supervision after 12.30pm will be released at our normal Wednesday dismissal time of 2.40pm. Buses will run at the usual times for Wednesday.
