ENROL NOW FOR TERM 1 2020 (This class runs every 2 weeks in an 8 week term)
Tutor: Wendy Vanden Berg.
This class runs over 2 terms (Term 1 & 2)
Do you want to learn and practise how and where you can make meaningful friendships? Or have you just moved to Hamilton and want to know what kinds of activities our city has to offer? Have you left school and your friends moved away from Hamilton? If you would like to build your confidence approaching people who enjoy the same activities as you, then this course is for you.
Life Friends is a five month course designed to support people to learn what having friendships and meaningful relationships are about, and how to go about building them.
Throughout the programme, participants will expand on their current relationships, social skills and relationship building skills.
A key part of Life Friends focuses on each individual. Participants will identify who they are, and who they want to be.
Life Friends puts emphasis on finding and joining existing clubs or groups that match people’s interests and passions and being part of the community through relationships, valued roles and contribution.
A Life Unlimited programme coordinator facilitates Life Friends and volunteers support the programme.
This course runs fortnightly over two terms, with a break over the school holidays.
Through the use of visual aids, pictures, PowerPoints, activities, role-plays and videos, the course caters for all levels of literacy and communication skills.
A tutor will meet with or call potential students before the course commences.
