LIVING LIGHTLY FOR THE FAINT HEARTED...how to be kind to yourself and still love the planet.
Living Lightly is a series of seven workshops that will change your life. Learn how to live well, with less waste, saving money, supporting local communities while having a lower impact on the planet and bringing about change.
You'll learn to live more sustainably by growing your own food and making ethical food choices; cleaning without the plastic and chemical nasties; alternative transport options; creating stronger communities; energy efficiency and an optional extra workshop on fun and awkward topics.
Most workshops will include a practical component making some awesome waste-free products.
This series is brought to you by Go Eco Waikato Environment Centre and is facilitated by Tania, their sustainability educator. Tania’s expertise includes waste minimization, growing food and community gardens. She is a qualified Home Performance Advisor and Cycling Instructor. When not at Go Eco you will most probably find Tania in her city backyard tending to her vegetables, chickens, beehives and fruit trees.
Classes are 1.5 hours long.
We have created seven classes with an extra class for fun and awkward topics. A total of eight.
This course is supported by the TEC (Tertiary Education Commission) to assist with literacy and numeracy needs of students. You must attend 80% of the class. At the same time we hope you will learn other useful and interesting skills and have a lot of fun learning with us.
