Tutor: Donna Ward
Whether you are making a quilt for the first time or renewing your love of quilting this is the class for you. Learn all the quiltmaking basics from tools and fabric to sewing your quilt project together to quilting and binding. You can work on a project of your choice or you can start with a cushion where Donna can provide you with a kitset to start you off (payment to Tutor).
Donna Ward began teaching quilting more than 25 years ago. She has won a diverse array of national and international awards. In 2003 she was awarded the Jewel Pearce Patterson Scholarship for International Quilt Teachers, enabling her to exhibit and attend workshops at the Houston Quilt Market and Festival. Donna has held two solo exhibitions at ArtsPost Gallery in Hamilton and in 2017 she won Best of Show at the NZ National Quilt Symposium.
This course is supported by the TEC (Tertiary Education Commission) to assist with literacy and numeracy needs of students. You must attend 80% of the class. At the same time we hope you will learn other useful and interesting skills and have a lot of fun learning with us.
