Do you want to feel free to dance just how you wanna? Want to have time to explore your own expression, timing and array of grooves without the pressure to get it right? We're all born to move with passion, grace and a rhythmic beat in our flesh that unites us across the globe. Sometimes we just don't get a chance to discover it. These classes chip away at inhibitions revealing our pretty awesome language of movement. We work with the floor, each other, music and imagination to develop our unique sense of time, space and rhythm through our bodies. Moving in ways you never get to in daily life, this series can have incredible health benefits including reducing stress, lowering blood pressure and full body detoxing. We talk about how a life of daily-grinds can include the movements you want on a day to day basis. This is an introduction into Margaret’s work that encourages people to move how they wanna move – on the dance floor, down the hallway and throughout life. Whether you have two left feet or one of each, everybody is welcome.
Comfortable clothing is an awesome start.
Drink bottles are invited.
Margaret has been studying and working in embodiment, physical theatre and dance throughout Europe for the past 14 years. Her teaching approach is naturally inspired by her continued research in somatic movement, play-fight interaction and instant composition.
This course is supported by the TEC (Tertiary Education Commission) to assist with literacy and numeracy needs of students. You must attend 80% of the class. At the same time we hope you will learn other useful and interesting skills and have a lot of fun learning with us.
