Cake decorating with a professional tutor.
In this course you will:
- Learn to make fondant decorations
- Melt and pipe chocolate, plus make drip cake decorations
- Make American buttercream and learn piping techniques
- Practice using buttercream and a piping bag to decorate cupcakes
- Make a drip cake and fondant cake.
Course costs
Your course fee covers tuition and the use of a class set of decorating tools. A set of high-quality basic cake decorating tools is available for purchase at cost price of $200, but is not required for enrollment. You will need to bring in ingredients each week.
About your tutor
I am originally from South Africa, I have been in Auckland for the last 16 years. I have 4 young children.
My background is in Beauty Therapy, I was a trainer and manager for many years until I decided to make my hobby and passion for cake decorating my new career.
I owned Sugarcrafts in Panmure and SweetiePie Cupcakes in St Heliers for about 5 years. I sold my business after having my 4th baby, deciding to spend more time at home with my kids.
I love cake decorating and training so when this role became available I just had to apply.
I look forward to meeting you and to teaching you many tips and tricks of the trade.
Please note - There is no class on 2nd November due to Fraser High School Senior Prize Giving.
- The last 2 classes will be from 5.30 to 8.30 pm.
- A requirement of this course is to ensure your work space is left clean and tidy before leaving class.
