At Fraser the aim is for students to develop a broad technological literacy that will equip them to participate in society as informed citizens and give them access to technology related careers.

In today's world it is more important than ever for students to have technological skills and knowledge. The ability to recognise needs and opportunities, and apply a problem-solving methodology to them, is vital to building a successful and sustainable future.

We provide all of our students with the chance to explore technology across a range of disciplines and year levels. The range of subjects includes: Engineering, Digital Technology, Fabric Design Technology, Computer Science, Media Studies, Hospitality & Catering, Office Technology, Workshop Skills, Design Technology, Visual Communication, Computer Aided Drawing, Building Construction & Furniture, Automotive, Food & Nutrition, Multimedia Computing and Graphics.

The first stage of our new Technology Faculty building, completed in 2008, contains Hard Material workshops, equipment bays, theory rooms and offices. The second stage which includes Hospitality & Catering, Food Technology and Soft Materials Technology teaching spaces was opened in July 2013. This is a state of the art building that is second to none in Waikato.

The Technology Faculty is committed to the delivery of the new Technology Curriculum and has completed a progressive review of all junior units of work. We have embraced the latest best practice models and are leading the school in the development of curriculum level based assessment and reporting.

In the senior school we are preparing students for success according to their needs and aspirations. This ranges from pre-apprenticeship courses in our Technology Academy through to undertaking Waikato University Computer Science papers as Year 13 Digital Technology students.

Many of our past students are recognised as small-business and professional leaders in Hamilton and the greater Waikato region. We expect that our current and future students will continue to expand on this tradition of contributing to the economy of the area by establishing lives and careers supported by a sound technological foundation developed in our classrooms.
